The One Thing That is Certain

If someone were to ask you, "What is the one thing in life that is certain?" you would have to answer, "The love of Christ." Not parents, not family, not friends. Not art or science or philosophy or any of the products of human wisdom. Only the love of Christ. You could not even say "God's love," because the truth that God is love is ultimately known only through Jesus Christ. Such is the certitude of faith rising from lived experience.

Thanks, bls. The dean of the Cathedral I serve commended the book from which this quote is taken, and while I have not read the book in its entirety, this section literally leaped off the page at me. Regardless of whatever else the author may say, this quote strikes me as so deeply and beautifully true that I couldn't help but post it for others to read.
